Kitchen Renovation Costs in Leeds & West Yorkshire: What Your Budget Buys

A new kitchen is one of the biggest investments you will make in your home, and the price range is huge. Here is what our recent kitchens in Leeds and across West Yorkshire actually cost, so you can see what different budgets really buy.

Three real kitchens

ProjectLocationInvestmentWhat was included
The Anthracite ShakerHeadingley, Leeds£30,000Cartmel shaker doors, Miami Vena quartz, panelled island with sink, antique nickel handles
The Hunter Green KitchenHorbury, Wakefield£39,000Rydal shaker doors, Siberian quartz, integrated appliances, wine bar, walk-in larder
The Garden KitchenGomersal£60,000Lucente handleless kitchen, Et Statuario quartz, building works and bi-folding doors

Around £30,000: a beautiful, well-built kitchen

Our Headingley kitchen shows what this budget can achieve: 22mm MDF shaker doors in anthracite and white, quartz worktops, an island with seating for four and a sink with a fluted quartz drainer, plus a tall larder and appliance wall. The layout worked with the existing room, which kept the cost focused on the kitchen itself.

Around £40,000: bespoke storage and statement details

At this level, the kitchen starts to work harder for the household. In Horbury, that meant a large island, integrated appliances, an oak-framed wine rack with a drinks station and wine cooler, and a lit walk-in corner larder. Brushed brass bar handles and Siberian quartz add the finishing touch.

£60,000 and above: kitchen plus building works

When a kitchen project includes structural changes, the budget moves up. Our Gomersal kitchen included custom building works and new bi-folding doors, opening the room out to the garden, alongside a handleless Lucente kitchen in three gloss finishes, Et Statuario quartz and under-counter lighting.

The advantage of one company managing it all is simple: one team, one programme and one point of contact, instead of coordinating builders, window fitters and kitchen fitters yourself.

What affects the cost of a kitchen?

  • Size and layout. More cabinets, an island or a larder all add to the cost.
  • Door style and finish. Painted shaker, woodgrain and high-gloss handleless all sit at different price points.
  • Worktops. Quartz and granite cost more than laminate but last far longer and look far better.
  • Appliances. Integrated appliances and induction hobs with built-in extraction cost more than freestanding models.
  • Building and electrical work. Knocking through, moving plumbing, new lighting circuits or bi-folding doors.

How to plan your budget

Decide early what matters most: the island you have always wanted, a walk-in larder, or opening the room up. Then let your designer plan around it. A 3D design lets you see the kitchen in place and adjust the layout before anything is ordered, which is far cheaper than changing your mind later.

Harrier kitchen projects start from £20,000 plus VAT. Every project includes a free home survey, a free 3D design and a fixed, itemised quotation. Finance is available, subject to status.
